about

In August of 1996 Three Mile Limit entered Eclipse Recording to make a studio album with Joe Egan. Though the band had released three self recorded cassettes over the previous two years, this was their first time in an actual studio. Over just three and a half days we recorded, mixed, and mastered a collection of old favorites and brand new songs. Floating Off Somewhere Else was released a few months later and received positive reviews, decent airplay on college radio in New England, and even raised some interest from an independent label. Ultimately this was Three Mile Limit's only CD release and if you didn't purchase a physical copy at one of their gigs or from one of the independent music or book stores that carried it then you've likely never heard it or haven't heard it in years.

With the arrival of the 25th anniversary, the band decided to put it back out into the world. The 25th Anniversary Edition features not only the full original album in high resolution format, but also includes six bonus tracks curated from the cassette only releases. The cassette releases were each recorded in Mike's basement by Chris, Mike, and Tom. The original masters of these six bonus tracks were dug out of a box in Chris's closet and remastered especially for this release.

If you're listening to Three Mile Limit for the very first time or for the first time in years, thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy the music.
